Three Reasons You Should Avoid Eating Catfish

While the vast majority of catfish are harmless to humans, a few species are known to present some risk. Many catfish species have "stings" (actually non-venomous in most cases) embedded behind their fins; thus precautions must be taken when handling them.

1. Cancer.

Many people fail to understand how this affects the body. Catfish especially the farmed ones are very much dangerous to the health. People hardly consider their health status, they keep on eating as they like. Up to three percent of the cases of cancer are related to this cause and yet people will still despise this message.

2. Cardiovascular disease.

This is a disease of the heart and other related organs like the liver. This is the centre of all other heart diseases like heart attack, failure and much more. Please for your own life stay off this fish, even if you must eat try as much as possible to consume the smoked ones. This is as a result of the chemicals combined to formulate their feed, in my own view I think it should be banned so that lives can be saved.

3. Mercury.

Mercury is very toxic, it is too bad for it to be in the body no matter how small it can be. It kills unknowingly and only in rare cases can you be saved. Mercury is a liquid silver which can be more deadly than you think, even though it is still among the least fishes that contains Mercury, It is better you don’t eat too much quantity of it so as to avoid any regrets.
